Question about Las Vegas Hotels?

I am planning a trip to Las Vegas and am having a hard time deciding where to stay. The hotels that I am debating on are Excalibur, Harrah’s, TI, New York New York and Paris. Excalibur is the cheapest, but I have been reading a lot of bad reviews and I heard the check in time at TI is horrendous. New York New York and Paris are on the high side for my budget. Any advice? What are your experiences?
