Is it safe to stay at Las Vegas airport during night?
I will be arriving in LAS at around 8pm and my next flight will be at 2.30 am so I have about 6 hours there. Does anyone know if the restaurants/shops will be open at that time? I will be arriving at Terminal 2 and will be leaving from the same Terminal.
Thanks
But will it still be open as an airport since there are flights during the night?
Thanks

no problem there’s bars, restaurants, snack shops. place to get a newspaper. restrooms. and even waiting lounges. slot machines if you want to gamble.
Yes its very safe.
Being post security in a major airport is one of the safest places you can be, since everyone is throughly screened for weapons.
Most of the bars and resturants will close around 10-11pm, but there will always be some place open to get snacks, drinks and coffee.
Just play the slot machines and 6 hours will be gone before you know it.

The airport has police security 24/7 and Terminal 2 is safe. The food court between Terminal 1 and 2 where Burger King is may be open but most of the businesses will be closed. You can contact McCarren and ask them
If you have checked luggage or not too much carry-on you can leave the airport and go to the strip. You’re not more than 15 minutes,(literally) from it. The airport is very safe. Bring a good book as there aren’t that many shops open late.
Yes its a very safe place. I few in there a couple of times and always notice i saw a police guy every 5-10 minutes walking through the airport.
Most venues in the airport close at 11:00pm, but airport security is in place 24/7.
There should be a venue that sells coffee and snacks, but I believe the bars and restarants will not re-open until 6:00am
The reason that it’s safe is because people living in the East Coast don’t like the sound of commercial aircraft 1000′ over their homes at 6:00 AM
An LAS >JFK flight that leaves LAS @ 12:00 PST arrives at JFK @ 8:00 AM EST
However a flight that leave at 9:00PM PST arrives at 5:00 AM EST
The end result is that LAS is very busy very late/early
yes and yes
Yep! Safe as heck! Places are ALWAYS open in Las Vegas, and the airport is no exception.
With that long of a layover, I would definitely catch a shuttle bus down to the strip. You can find a shuttle outside the baggage claim doors for about $7. Spend a few hours seeing the lights, gamble a little, get dinner at one of the restaurants or buffets, and then catch a cab back to the airport from any of the hotels.
