Incredible Savings – Chartering a Las Vegas Helicopter Tour for Groups

Booking a helicopter tour on-line for a party of ten or more people? Be sure that you use the group-booking form and save up to an additional ten percent on already low Internet pricing.

Discovering it, however, requires some work.

Locate links that read “event planners,” “incentive travel,” or “groups of 10 or more.” Most helicopter tour sites are set up for independent travelers. That’s changed: Papillon and Maverick, for instance, clearly link to their group sales page.

After you book your group tour online, your trip will be managed by a dedicated account executive. This individual will work with you to coordinate flight times, seating, and special needs. They’ll also help build your trip’s itinerary. This service is free of charge.

Nobody buys tickets for full-price in Las Vegas. To get the best deal, book on-line and take 45% off retail (basically a two-for-one deal). Groups get an even better deal: In addition to the standard web discount, they get an additional 10%.

Why do Las Vegas companies do this? It comes down to two magical words: Volume and competition. Over 35 million people a year visit Sin City, and a significant number take helicopter trips. Seeing this demand, the main tour companies in the world are here and they compete like mad for your travel dollar. The winner? You.

There are a variety of trips from which to chose for your group. Here are the ones that get the most requests:

Las Vegas Tours

A Vegas flight is the best way to take in The Strip. You’ll be thrilled as you and your group takes in the world’s most distinct skyline: New York, New York, MGM Grand, Paris, Bellagio, Wynn…all the great hotel resorts and their accompanying attractions. You’re airborne for 10 minutes. And it’s without a doubt the most incredible ten minutes a group can experience together.

Grand Canyon Tours

The best value by far are helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon. The two areas of the Canyon you can visit are the West and South Rims. The former is by far the more popular. Here are specifics:

West Rim

This Rim is just 120 miles from Las Vegas (45 minutes by helicopter). You can choose to fly over it or land, either on the rim or at the bottom of the Canyon (the West Rim is the only place where you can do this). On the Rim, make sure you experience the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass bridge that extends 75 feet over the edge, the Colorado River 4,000 feet below. Descending and landing on the bottom of the Canyon is an incredible journey, as you descend, wind, and canyon-carve your way to the banks of the Colorado River. Your tour will also include flying over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, the second largest dam in the U.S., as well as parts of the pristine Mojave Desert. Most trips include a quick detour over The Strip or let you include it as an add-on.

South Rim

This trip requires you to take a tour bus to the South Rim, where you will transfer to your helicopter at Grand Canyon National Airport. One-way drive time is 5.5 hours and full of adventure, too, as you get to drive next to Lake Mead and also over Hoover Dam, where you’ll stop for pictures on the Arizona side. You’ll fly over the deepest part of the Canyon (Dragoon Corridor) as well as many rock shrines and temples before coming upon the isolated North Rim. Flight time is twenty minutes. Most tours include “ground time” at the Rim, where you’ll be able to visit such famous lookouts like Mather Point, Yavapai Observation Station, Hermit’s Rest, and more. The developed area is called Grand Canyon Village, and it’s here where you will discover restaurants, souvenir shops, and Native American handicrafts.

Wrap Up

Planning to bring a large number of people to Las Vegas? Take a helicopter group tour. The more people who fly, the cheaper. But don’t forget to seek out the “group” on-line-booking page and you’ll get the special “bulk rate” you deserve. Tours include the Las Vegas Strip and the two main Grand Canyon destinations: The West Rim (Skywalk, bottom-landings) and the South Rim (deep gorge flyover, Grand Canyon Village). It does not matter which package you choose, you and your group will be talking about this Vegas vacation for a lifetime.
