I am going to vegas this winter, and i was looking forwards to hanging out in the spas/ jacuzzi at the hotel pool. Some one told me that they might be all closed in the winter. Do they drain them in the winter? (it would make sense, but that is when people want to relax in them, when its cold out)

Do Las Vegas hotels have open staircases (to use instead of elevators?)?

I am freaked out about what happened at Paris Las Vegas with the elevator cable snapping. I heard that the stairs in Vegas are only for emergencies (the alarm will go off if used). Is this true or can people use them freely ? I’m planning to go to Las Vegas this weekend and I want to use the stairs. If no stairs are open, can you request a first floor room and emphasize that you are claustrophobic of elevators? Thanks.
