Wynn Las Vegas Review

Situated at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, the 217 acre Wynn Las Vegas Resort is a gleaming testament to the luxury that is Las Vegas. Opened in the spring of 2005 by Steve Wynn himself, the newest 5 star Vegas resort is designed for the exclusive Vegas traveler.

Does the Wynn really live up to the hype? Here’s a review of the highlights to help you decide for yourself.

Rooms

The Wynn offers some of the largest and most luxurious rooms on the strip: 5 suite types in all, ranging form over 640 square feet up to 1950 square feet. They offer wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows with incredible views of the Strip or the Wynn golf course.

All rooms offer cordless phone, fax, high speed Internet access, 320 thread count European linens, In room massage, manicure, pedicure and hair styling services, over-sized Turkish towels and flat screen LCD high definition TVs. Plus all suite guests have private pools and terraces.

Casino

The 110000 square foot casino offers the full range of table games, including Blackjack, Big 6, Craps, Caribbean Stud, Roulette, Let it Ride ,Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow, Three Card Poker and Casino War. If slots are your preference, you can choose from over 1850 slot machines in denominations ranging from 1 cent to 5000 dollars.

The 27 table poker room offers Hold’Em, Omaha Hi Low, and mixed game combination with game limits ranging from 4 to 8 dollars up to 200 dollars. There are also higher limit games as well as pot limit and no limit games.

The Wynn casino stands apart in that it offers lots of natural light and very little smoking. Also, children must be accompanied by an adult and no strollers are allowed in the casino.

Golf

Created by Tom Fazio exclusively for Wynn resort guests, the golf course is actually integrated into the resort itself so that your first tee is less than 50 feet away from the hotel. This is the only on premise golf course on the Las Vegas strip and includes nearly 6 miles of cart paths, two marshland areas using natural groundwater, and a 37 foot tall waterfall.

Shows

Franco Dragone, the man who created “Mystere”, “O”, and Celine Dion’s “A New Day”, has created an all new show at the Wynn called “Le Reve” (The Dream). Performed in a domed theater where no seat is more than 40 feet from the action, this show is an original watery fairy tale that you won’t see anywhere else.

Angels fall from the sky, ancient warriors wander through dreams and sleeping beauties disappear into a watery abyss. The show’s theme, according to Dragone is really about the dual nature of the human race: how men can do both beautiful things and ugly things at the same time.

Restaurants

If you’ve always wanted to dine with the most famous chefs in the world you can do it at the Wynn. Chef Paul Bartolotta of the Ristorante di Mare was named the Best American Chef, Midwest by the James Beard Foundation.

Executive Pastry Chef Frederic Robert was named Restaurant Pastry Chef of the Year by Filere Gourmande Magazine and Pastry Chef of the Year by Champerard Guide.

Chef Alessandro Stratta heads the Riviera Cuisine which was called the Best New Restaurant 2005 by Esquire magazine and received the AAA Five Diamond Award of Excellence for 2006.

The Wynn offers over 15 restaurants to choose from with a vast selection of cuisines so you’ll never get bored (or even have to leave the resort!).

Spa

The spa offers 45 treatment rooms for massage, body treatments, facials, and hydrotherapy. Enjoy a customized massage to sooth away the stresses of the day or relax with a loved one in a couples massage.

Choose from the latest in antiaging technology with specialized facials including the Anakiri Active Enzyme Facial or the Naturopathica Custom Facial which is based on traditional European deep cleansing techniques.

Shopping

The 75000 square foot Wynn Esplanade is the where you’ll find the most exclusive names in fashion: Chanel, Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Gaultier, Louis Vuitton and and the only Manolo Blahnik boutique outside New York.

For men, there’s Brioni and of course the Penske Wynn Ferrari and Maserati showroom. If that isn’t enough, just a few steps across the street you’ll find the Fashion Show mall.

With it’s prime location and exclusive shopping boutiques the Wynn is a favorite hot spot for top fashion makers and shoppers alike.

Bottom Line?

The Wynn is simply the ultimate luxury getaway in Vegas. While it may not be for the economy traveller, if you want to stay at one of the top hotels in the world and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, the Wynn is the “IT” place to be in Vegas.

Las Vegas 1000 11.5g Poker Chips Review

If you want to Learn to Play Poker at someone’s residence it can be a little aggravating if they don’t have poker chips. People are always fumbling through their money and then they throw out a $20 bill thinking it was a $10 and all kinds of arguments start. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a set of chips that nobody else had again, say maybe some Barack Obama Commemorative Casino Poker Chips?

There’s a good reason I won’t play Poker Games with anything other than with some 1000 11.5g Poker Chips. Let me tell you some Poker News. A couple of years back a couple of friends and I headed down for a weekend in good old Las Vegas. We were all single and just looking to have an amazing time. And, of course, you don’t get a more amazing time than you do in Vegas.

I decided to try my luck at the Poker Table. I’d been practicing my pro game and had gotten pretty good so I was ready to try my hand at a real table in a real casino. And all my practice was paying off. I was winning hand after hand after hand. My stack of chips was growing bigger by the minute by just applying the Basic Rules of Poker. It was like an out of body experience: like I was watching some other guy rock the house in Vegas.

When I did finally lose, I decided my winning streak was over so I grabbed up my chips, cashed them in, and joined the guys for a nice buffet dinner. That night I headed back to the casino for another shot at the poker tables. And there she was. I immediately saw her at one of the pricier poker tables and decided that maybe my skills could impress her.

Unfortunately, I think my winning streak really had ended. When I started, I had been up by about $3,000. After a few hands, I’d lost about half but she hadn’t even looked in my direction yet so I kept playing. She, on the other hand, was probably distracted by the giant stack of poker chips in front of her.

To strike up a conversation, I asked, “What’s your secret?” and what Poker Variations do you use to get these types of results? She looked up, smiled charmingly, and said, “If I tell you, I’d have to kill you.” We both laughed then she won the next hand.

Finally, I had to give up. I’d lost almost every penny I had won earlier at the Poker Room. I gave her one last smile then headed back towards the elevators. And suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder. She was standing behind me smiling and holding all of her chips. “I can’t tell you my secret, but I could buy you breakfast,” she said.

And that’s how things started. She cashed in her chips, and we got to know each other. Three months later we came back to Vegas and got married. For a wedding present, I bought her 1000 11.5g Poker Chips. Twice a week we have friends over for a few hands of poker. She generally wins according to Official Poker Rules, but I’m picking up on her secrets.

Even though I ended up breaking even monetarily that weekend at Vegas, every time I see 1000 11.5g Poker Chips I think about that night again and what Poker Tips I could employ to beat her next time. Vegas may hold special memories for me, but there’s nothing like playing a few hands in the comfort of my home and trying to figure out exactly how my new wife always seems to get the better hand.

A Review of Las Vegas Casino Poker Chips

Las Vegas casino poker chips are the best chips around, but they are not all the same. Rumor says that there is an official weight limit on chips which is not true. When shopping for chips online, you will see them offering chips that weigh as much as 12 grams, at higher prices, but the simple fact is that a the average gram weight of a casino chip is less than ten.

The variation in the chip weight depends on the material it is made from, the design that is used, and the amount of ink needed for it. No two casinos use the exact same composition for molding chips, and the are produced only by a very small number of companies, all from the United States, that are bonded. The blend used is well protected, to prevent chip forgery.

Using their own composition formula, Las Vegas casino poker chips are injected into a mold that has a design which has been copywrited, in a manufacturing set up that is as secure as the mint. The formula uses a synthetic polymer acrylic material, with a center that is laminated. While weighing in at close to ten grams, the size is the same at all the casinos, measuring about one and a half inches in diameter, or thirty-nine millimeters.

The three manufacturers that are generally used by Las Vegas casinos are Paul-Son, Chipco, and Bud Jones. They all use different manufacturing processes. The technique used by Paul-son is a compression mold system, using extreme pressure to fuse the colors into a solid piece. with uneven stripes of color on the very edge of each chip (if you play poker in Vegas, you have, no doubt, seen players trying to stack their chips by evening out the stripes on the edges of each chip!).

Injection molding is used by Bud Jones. The patterns, pre-formed letter, and denominations are joined and solidified by injecting plastic material around them. They also sometimes use metal inlay chips.

Chipco is the newest of the three main manufacturers. They use ceramic material that is injection molded in one piece. You can recognize these chips by their full-color graphics, and designs on the rim. They are the only one of the three that prints numbers and letters on the actual rim of the chip.

Recently, the casinos started issuing commemorative chips for certain events. The MGM Grand put out a chip for the George Foreman fight, the Tropicana issued one for the Kentucky Derby, and Caesars Palace celebrated George Burns hundredth birthday with one. These chips have the same value, and play as any other Las Vegas casino poker chips at the tables, but most people that get hold of them take them home as collector’s items. If you see one, and you want it, grab it fast!

Since poker became the “big game” in Las Vegas, many people are buying chips for home play. An interesting way to do it is to literally buy them from the casino and take them home with you. Use them for your home games, and if you ever stop playing, or need the money, cash them back in at the casino you got them from for full value. Don’t worry about the changes a casino may make, or even the possibility of a casino being sold or closed down. This would only make your Las Vegas casino poker chips even more valuable!
