FRANK SINATRA ON THE ROCKS

[PLEASE READ] “Please, I know you’re not laughin’, but leave us not make it a crusade!” Singer/actor Frank Sinatra is dramatic dynamite as the star of Paramount’s THE JOKER IS WILD (1957). Based on the life of comedian Joe E. Lewis (1902-1971), the movie is ornamented with terrific songs (including the Academy-Award-winning “All the Way”) and beauty (Mitzi Gaynor and Jeanne Crain). It is also peppered with plenty of night-club patter (including Lewis’s signature toast “Post time!”). Sinatra exudes confidence as Lewis: not only could he relate familiarly to the film’s late-night-entertainment settings and action, he could also flex his actor’s muscles to meet a variety of challenging dramatic demands—some of which you will see in this YouTube video. Although Sinatra’s Lewis was prey to self-destructive behavior, screenwriter Oscar Saul stitched a silver thread of life-affirmation into the character—and, to me, that “grace note” truly makes this a winning film. “The Joker Is Wild” also features performances by Eddie Albert, Beverly Garland, and Jackie Coogan. Miscellaneous thoughts: Frank Sinatra–probably better than any other significant film actor–knew how to look at an actress in their scenes together. Case in point: watch his eyes in conversation with Jeanne Crain. Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote’ (accent over the “e”) returned to rock the party for Victoria’s Secret at Caesar’s Palace this month which sent sales for the Secret “soaring”. The major firm out of New York, contacted Dote’ for his services who is known as the most requested Disc Jockeys in Las Vegas.

Surrounded by beautiful women and cranking up the sounds, Dote’ drew hundreds of spectators and buyer’s alike to the Caesar’s Palace Mall. Dote’ and his co-disc jockeys were having a blast giving away $50.00 gift certificates to the winner of the raffle drawing every hour that included free products courtesy of Victoria’s Secret.

The event co-ordinater was Erica Gianchetti who made the long flight from Manhatten, New York to attend this event. Dote’, also from the Bronx, New York and Gianchetti both have something in common. They are loyal Yankees fans of Baseball. Dote’ is well known at Caesar’s for his up-beat wedding receptions and corporate events performances. He is constantly requested by the hotel to handle their elaborate events. (He is literally only a few hundred yards from Celine Dionne whom he hopes to catch up with someday).

The ladies took turns at being Dote’s co-host and indeed, the crowds formed. They were lining up about an hour before the event. John Dote’, as they say “Is Rocking Las Vegas At It’s Highest Level” and Victoria’s Secret picked up on the rumor. Victoria’s Secret was giving away free facial treatments to all of it’s potential customers. Needless to say, the women giving their moment of expertise in cosmetics were creating Beauty in those that felt they lacked it.

MTV in New York has also approaced John Dote’ to appear on the nationally televised “Wedding Extravganza’s” which is produced by the same major firm. Gianchetti has taken over the Entertainment Department for Victoria’s Secret and we at Celebrity Entertainment wish her our very best. She is a dynamic individual with a flare for design and an upbeat flow for entertainment.

She indeed knows the right selections to request from her DJ and never settles for a dull moment. She will no doubt become an asset to Victoria’s Secret Entertainment Division. Be sure to stop in at Victoria’s Secret in your neighborhood as they offer only top of the line cosmetic products.
