What is there to do for an 18 year old in Las Vegas?

I’m going there for my birthday and I’m scared I’m going to be banned to the room at night.
I really want to go to some sort of club but I’m not going to be able to drive to the only one I know of for 18 year olds: froZEN.

Car Insurance costs for a 17 year old in Las Vegas, Nevada?

I will be getting my license early next year and I will be 17 years old.
I am a male, and I get decent grades. Usually alway’s A’s and B’s, maybe one C.
I plan on getting an SUV, particularly a 1999 Ford Explorer with over 100,000 miles from my uncle.

What would your estimate on insurance costs be?
How do I apply my good grades to my insurance policy?
Would it be cheaper to go on my parents account?

Amtrak from the Northeast to Las Vegas with a 9 year old?

I’m thinking of taking my 9 year old son to Las Vegas this summer to see the Hoover Dam. He is a rail fan so I’m thinking about doing the Amtrak thing. I know Amtrak doesn’t serve LV and that we have to take a bus from Kingman, AZ. I’ve done my homework as far as that goes. Has anyone taken a cross-country trip lately on Amtrak and what are your thoughts? Our family did it back in 1966 when things on the rails were a little different as far as trains are. I’ve been to Vegas many times but have always flown. He’s also flown several times but never has been on a train other than commuter trains in and out of Manhattan. Thanks for any suggestions and/or comments.

Moving to Australia for a year, where is the best place to live with the most to do?

I’m moving to Australia fro a year but before I do so I’m doing a little research. I’m looking for the best place to live in Australia that fits the given criteria.

-Hiking
-Surfing
-Casual nightlife entertainment (bars, movies, things to do)
-I do not need nightlife such as dance clubs and those sort of things.
-A place with a younger population (20-30′s)

Right now I’m looking at Gold Coast in Queensland but an Australian told me that’s like the Las Vegas of Australia which turns me off a bit. Anyone have any good suggestions or would care to set me straight on the Gold Coast impression that I have?
