Once again LAVO will ring in the New Year in true Las Vegas style. At LAVO Nicole Richie leads the countdown as beau Joel Madden spins a special DJ set. Fireworks have returned to the Las Vegas Strip, and the terrace at LAVO will provide a prime viewing location. Tickets are currently $150 for LAVO and include entry to one venue, open bar and passed hors doeuvres from 9 pm 11 pm and a champagne toast at midnight. The economy is putting a crimp in plans for a 426-room boutique hotel designed by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer in the 61-acre Symphony Park in downtown Las Vegas. The Las Vegas City Council decided Wednesday to allow the developer to delay construction for at least two years on the 426-room, non-gaming hotel — and possibly as long as four years.
