What is cheapest or best way to get from Las Vegas airport to MGM Grande?
We have just 2 people…so what is the best way? Is there some kind of shuttle or bus that would be less expensive than getting a cab? Or is it walkable?
Which shuttle service is only $5 each way? It shows up as $15 round trip or $8 each way…

Not walkable. Hotel shuttle is cheaper than a cab, but you’ll have about 5-10 stops to make so allow for more time to get to the airport.
I was there just a couple weeks ago, and the cab is about $20 including tip. The shuttle is $5 a person.
Not walkable!! Ummm you can probably catch the CAT buses but then you have to figure out which bus gets you closes to casino, just do a cab and save yourself the headache.
Not walkable I have got a cab from McCarran to MGM and back many many times the very most I have paid is $18 each way usually $15 with tip dont even consider any other way as it will be at least twice but pobably 3 or 4 times as long. http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008/07/16/las-vegas-getting-there-mccarran-airport-to-the-strip/
There is no way to walk from the Airport to the Strip. It is build that way. There is a bus that runs regularly from the Airport to the Strip but it is just a day coach that makes regular stops. It is cheap, but inconvenient especially if you have baggage. The “best” way in my opinion, are the shuttle services that charge between $5 & $8 per passenger but drop you off right at your hotel. They can sometimes get a discount with a coupon or by booking in advance on line. They are in the kiosks right outside the doors of the arrival area at the airport. You can also book a return trip at the same time if you wish.
These are large vans equipped to handle you and your luggage easily.

I’ve walked from the airport to the strip twice. To MGM is only about 2 miles. I wouldn’t want to walk with a bunch of luggage but with one carry on bag it’s no ordeal.
Here’s a photo I shot of a cactus on my way walking from the airport:

A taxi for about $12 is a better option, much faster and much more convenient. Don’t let the driver take the tunnel (freeway) or the fare will go up to about $20.
Shuttles charge per person so 2 on a shuttle will cost about the same as a taxi. The taxi is the better option.
There’s also the city bus system (CAT) for $2 or $3.
Saving money on transportation usually involves spending more time. So the question is more like, “is $12 + tip for a 10 minute cab ride a better deal than $3 for a bus trip where I’ll have to wait 15 minutes for the next bus then sit on the bus for 30 minutes?”
I would take the airport shuttle it is $6 to the hotel per person or you could take a cab that prob will cost just about the same just extra for the tip
